There are so many reasons to drink water… my favorite is that it simply just tastes great and truly is the most refreshing drink out there, but there are some really solid reasons to drink water too. Aside from just being necessary for staying alive, water provides a tone of mood-boosting benefits as well. While there are many more, here are my favorite 4 mood-boosting benefits of drinking water.
Helps You Maximum Your Potential
Water helps you perform at your maximum potential. Dehydration can lead to uncontrolled body temperature, increased fatigue, and make high-energy activities more difficult both mentally and physically.
Helps Your Brain Work Better
Simply put your brain is mostly water. When you become dehydrated your brain doesn’t process at its highest capacity, possibly causing headaches, change in mood, and loss of concentration. If you want better focus, make sure you are fully hydrated.
Helps Your Kidneys
Drinking water can help prevent kidney stones and relieve constipation. This is also extremely important when it comes to detoxification. One of the best ways to remove toxins from your body is through urination. Another is through sweating. You need to be hydrated to do both properly.
Helps Boost Your Metabolism
Some studies have even shown that drinking water may help boost your metabolism, which helps you burn calories and in turn possibly lose weight. At the very least, trading your soda out for water will help you cut out those unhealthy calories and cut down on your sugar intake.
